Using the best basketball ankle brace you can find makes a huge difference out on the court. I play basketball for a small college in the Midwest, and they don’t always have a lot of money for the best equipment on the market. I sprained my ankle pretty badly during a game and considering I’m the best player on the team, that meant the next couple of games against some good schools looked like an impending disaster. The coach tried the usual cold/heat treatments, but it didn’t improve. He also tried a brace, but it was old and didn’t fit well.
I decided to take the bull by the horns and get my own brace to see if I could play with the bum ankle. I went online and did a lot of research through a site that gives you all the information you need to make a smart decision. I borrowed some money from my Dad so I could get the best one available and went ahead and ordered one. It took a few days to arrive and I put it on and went for a walk around the campus. It felt so tight and comfortable that the walk turned into a jog. No pain!
I went to practice and took it a bit easy but still had no problems moving around the court close to my full speed. The coach certainly liked that a lot. He promised to let me play as long as I promised to take myself out if I felt even a small bit of discomfort. I’m happy to say I stayed in for a full three quarters and only sat down after we put up a comfortable lead on the other team. This brace is so great that I’m planning on keeping it on just to prevent future injuries down the road.
